About a month ago I put out a call for women to come participate in a shoot for my everyBODY campaign. The idea behind everyBODY is to encourage women of all shapes and sizes to get off the sidelines and into a swimsuit. Every body is a swimsuit body!!! There is already so much pressure on women to look a certain way and be a certain size, and I feel this intensifies in the summer months when less clothing is required. The weather gets hot and I know some of us panic. Some of us dread putting on shorts or tank tops, let alone a swimsuit. There’s nothing to hide behind. I want to change that! Every body is beautiful and does not need to be hidden or tucked away just because it doesn’t fit the mold for society’s “ideal body type”. I want to see women loving themselves NOW. Not only when they have reached their version of the perfect body, but right now in the moment.
I brought my daughter along to this shoot and let one of my clients bring her daughter as well. I did this because it is so important to me that children see women/ their mother’s having a healthy relationship with their body image. It is important for our youth, both boys and girls, to see women of all shapes and sizes happily enjoying themselves and embracing their bodies as is. This is how we change the narrative, it starts with us! Right now, we are the definition of what is beautiful to our children. They don’t know otherwise until someone tells them otherwise- don’t let that someone be you. Let’s raise girls that are confident and don’t put a size or weight as the determining factor of their self worth. And let’s raise boys that have realistic expectations for what womanhood looks like as we age and have children.
All of the women that attended this shoot were complete strangers. They are all in different stages of their lives but wanted to come together to stand for this message. We had so much fun and some new friendships were made! This is exactly why I created this event- to not only campaign for body positivity, but to also create opportunities for women to come together and make new friends and support each other in these different stages of life. I am so incredibly proud of these women and what we created together! Make sure to get out there on the beach and by the pool this summer! If you are feeling bold enough to join the movement (which you absolutely should because I already know you look stunning in that swimsuit!!!) share a photo with us on instagram and tag me so I can see it (@ambertylerboudoir)! Also make sure to use the hashtag #everyBODY
See you on the beach!
