Stripped Down | Coeur d’Alene Boudoir Photographer
A while back I was inspired by a fellow photographer to do some fresh face shoots. Fresh face shoots are where the client wears no makeup and we document them as they are. I loved this idea. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup and what it offers women. I love to play with it and create fun new looks. I am in no way against makeup, but I really wanted to take on the challenge and be a part of normalizing being comfortable in your own skin. When I announced this, I was shocked by how many were so happy to see this- because they themselves don’t wear makeup and didn’t know it was an option to do a shoot without makeup. I want to make it very clear that you do NOT have to put on makeup to do a shoot with me! You can always, ALWAYS opt to do a shoot without makeup. In fact, I enjoyed doing this so much because it just felt so real and vulnerable. I called the series “stripped down” because I wanted the focus to truly be on the individual. To see their features, not makeup. I had them bring outfits that were simple and not distracting. I wanted their natural beauty to be what shined the most in these photos, and I think we accomplished that.
Here is what miss K said about her experience:
Something else that really stuck with me was that when she told me thank you for this experience, she thanked me for helping make her feel seen and appreciated. Which to me is SO important.. that is what all of this is about!! Here are some of my favorites from my first Stripped Down her shoot! Let me know what you think! Would you ever do a fresh faced shoot?
Glitter Shoot Part 1 | Coeur d’Alene Boudoir Photographer
I am incredibly behind on sharing these glitter sessions I did last year! Yes you read that right.. Last year. I really need to get to blogging more. This was SO much fun! I seriously loved having the glitter and gem pasties as an added accessory for these shoots. Such a fun transformation! All of my clients that have done the glitter shoots said they felt like either a mermaid or Wonder Woman.. Which are both totally bad ass! Here are a few of my favorites from this shoot. What do you think? Would you love to incorporate glitter and gem pasties into your shoot?
